Congratulations to Brandon Richer and Justin Barnes, winners of our Install Job of the Week for their installation of a new modulating gas furnace, humidifier, duct smoke detector and surge protector at the Bertrand residence in Mill Creek. The Bertrand’s have a well-installed, reliable, comfortable and safe system thanks to Brandon and Justin’s work.
The existing furnace was aging, and in need of expensive repairs due to the failure of a circuit board.
A new, 80% AFUE, standard efficiency York Affinity modulating gas furnace with a variable speed blower motor was installed for improved comfort. The ductwork had to modified to fit the smaller furnace, with an aerodynamic filling being made and installed on-site. All air plenums were sealed for enhanced comfort and efficiency.
A Honeywell TrueSteam central steam humidifier was installed to increase comfort and provide winter-time health benefits. This installation includes an in-line water filter for the humidifier to prevent sediment build-up and ensure reliable use for years to come.
An in-line surge arrestor was installed to protect the circuit board and other sensitive electronics from electrical surges. Finally, a duct-mounted smoke detector was installed to shut the system down in the event of smoke entering the duct system. In the event of a fire, this can protect you and your loved ones, and provide precious time to escape.
