What started as a small service business out of Don’s house has turned into one of the largest residential service and replacement businesses in Western Washington. We’ve expanded our business to include geothermal and solar systems, and a whole range of products that weren’t even available when we started this business. We’ve also moved into Home Performance Contracting, providing home energy audits and weatherization services through our BelRed Home Energy subsidiary. But in the end our success is still predicated on a commitment to provide the highest possible level of service to customers, and offering them the best available solutions to meet their needs.
Don Millard was working as a service technician, with a degree from a 2-year technical program and a lot of years of experience under his belt when he started BelRed 25 years ago. He saw how poorly every HVAC company he had worked for up until then had been run and thought that he could provide better service to customers if he just did it himself! So he founded the company as BelRed Heating and Air Conditioning in 1986. This January, we celebrated our 25th anniversary in business!
Along the way, we tried commercial contracting, we tried new construction, we did a bit of everything. Around 10 years ago, we decided to focus solely on the residential service and replacement business, and made it our goal to do it better than anyone else. We grew dramatically year-over-year through a focus on providing a high level of customer service, hiring the best staff and providing them with the right tools to succeed, and offering the best available solutions to meet homeowners needs.
