Congratulations to Jose Salmeron and Lyle Gardner, winners of our Installation Job of the Week for 10/17/11. Jose and Lyle installed this high efficiency furnace, to improve comfort and save energy, at the Wise residence in Renton, WA. They did a great job building and installing a custom duct transition (plenum) to ensure proper airflow and maximum comfort!
The existing standard efficiency furnace was replaced with a high-efficiency, variable speed furnace for increased energy savings, comfort and airflow.
A new, aerodynamic supply plenum was custom-built, sealed and installed (interior view shown). By using a rounded exterior turn angle, air will flow better into the duct system. The new plenum was sealed from the inside to ensure maximum airflow, and a clean, exterior look.
The new, 2-stage, high efficiency variable speed furnace will enhance comfort AND save energy. New PVC venting was installed, and properly sloped and secured to ensure proper operation.
